According to a formal announcement made by the Ministry of Railways, Indian Railways will operate its Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train on a route connecting the holy cities of Ayodhya in India and Janakpur in Nepal starting next month.
The effort, according to the release, will advance cultural ties between the two nations and boost bilateral ties. On February 17, the “Shri Ram-Janaki Yatra: Ayodhya to Janakpur” excursion will depart from Delhi. Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Kashi, and Prayagraj will also be visited by the train. The stopover for the day at the location will include the visit.
The Railway Ministry announced that hotel accommodations in Janakpur and Varanasi will be required for two nights.
The cutting-edge Deluxe AC Tourist Train’s amenities include two fine dining establishments, a contemporary kitchen, shower stalls in the coaches, sensor-based bathroom facilities, and foot massagers.
The birthplace of Lord Ram, Ayodhya, is the first stop on the proposed seven-day Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train journey, where travellers will visit the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the Hanuman temple, as well as the Bharat Mandir at Nandigram, according to the announcement.
The tourist train will depart from Ayodhya and go to Sitamarhi Railway Station in Bihar. From there, travellers will board buses to travel the last 70 kilometres to Janakpur in Nepal.

The opening of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is in keeping with the “Dekho Apna Desh” strategy of the Indian government to promote domestic travel.
The train will be a seven-day all-inclusive trip package with prices starting at 39,775 per person. Included in the price are train travel in the appropriate class, overnight stays in AC motels, vegetarian meals, all transportation and sightseeing by bus, travel insurance, and guide services.
