According to S Jaishankar in Austria, PM Narendra Modi Talks with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine
Vienna, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been in touch with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine, the minister of external affairs S. Jaishankar said on Monday, urging them to resume dialogue and diplomacy as a protracted conflict will not serve the interests of any party. He emphasized that differences must be resolved through talks. On the second leg of his two-nation tour, Jaishankar, who had traveled from Cyprus, made the comments in a joint press release following his fruitful discussions with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg.
“We firmly think that a time of conflict has passed. Conflicts must be resolved through negotiation. A return to communication and diplomacy is essential. No party’s interests will be served by a protracted dispute. My Prime Minister has spoken with the leaders of both countries, urging them to understand our perspective, “said Jaishankar.
India has urged Russia and Ukraine to resume their diplomatic and diplomatic discussion in order to put an end to their continuing war.
In several conversations with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi has urged an early end to hostilities as well as a return to the diplomatic and dialogue methods of resolving the crisis.
On September 16, during their private meeting in Uzbekistan, Modi urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to put an end to the violence, stating that “today’s era is not of war.”
India has been certain that the problem should be resolved through discussion but has not yet criticized Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
At a time when India is looking to improve its relationship with the EU, Jaishankar stated that Austria is a crucial partner for India. “We value its steadfast backing of the current FTA, investment, and geographic indicators agreements under discussion. Obviously, their outcome will be favourable for our bilateral economic relationship as well “added he.
“Let me emphasise that when it comes to bilateral cooperation, we see Austria as a serious and important partner. You possess knowledge and skills necessary for India’s modernization and advancement “said he.
The present trade turnover between the two nations is over USD 2.5 billion. In India, there are more than 150 Australian enterprises. The minister said, “We would like those numbers to increase as well.”
“Numerous Austrian businesses have the potential to more actively support our country’s top priorities. Similarly, when based in Austria, our businesses can also create wealth and jobs. As ministers, it is our duty to see that such alliances take place, ” he adds.
