Hyundai Motor India introduced its all-electric SUV model IONIQ 5 at the Auto Expo 2023 on Wednesday in an effort to strengthen its position in the nation’s electric vehicle market.
The model is built on the business’s exclusive battery electric vehicle platform E-GMP and is priced at Rs 44.95 lakh (Electric Global Modular Platform).
The automaker, which already offers one electric vehicle (EV) for sale in the nation—the Kona Electric—announced that the IONIQ 5’s initial pricing of Rs 44.95 lakh would only be available to the first 500 buyers.
Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO, Unsoo Kim, introduced the model at Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida and stated, “Hyundai IONIQ 5 embodies our shift towards future mobility with tenets that embody intelligent technology, innovation, and sustainability.”
The model, he continued, would speed up the adoption of electric mobility and increase consumer trust in these technologies.
Kim continued by saying that the model will hasten the adoption of electric vehicles.
According to the manufacturer, the Ioniq 5 has a range of 631 kilometers on a full charge.

The model would initially be released in three colors: midnight black pearl, opti white, and gravitation gold matte. The model, according to Hyundai, includes a number of earthy components, including bio paint, leather that has undergone a green processing procedure, eco-friendly fabric, and paperette made entirely from recyclable HDPE.
The model comes with six airbags and an electric parking brake in addition to sporting features like a multi-charge system and quick battery charging.

The appearance of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is distinctive and promises to usher in a new era of design. The façade, which represents the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s visual identity, is made out of a play of parametric pixels and has straight, clean lines. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 served as design inspiration for the iconic front’s Parametric Pixel LED Headlamps, which have a distinctive pixel character.
When the bulb is off, the Premium front LED accent lighting’s transflective coating technology creates the appearance of a garnish. Planar symmetry is displayed in the front bumper with skid plate, and diagonal creases offer a high-tech rendition of “Sensuous Sportiness.” The all-electric SUV’s basic attractiveness is enhanced by the clamshell hood’s seamless and streamlined form.
The introduction follows Hyundai’s earlier declaration that it will spend Rs 4,000 crore to introduce around six electric vehicles in India by 2028.
